Playing in the collegiate basketball tournament known as “March Madness,” according to Belfast basketball player CJ Fulton, is “a dream come true.”
Fulton is a player for the Charleston Cougars, who will play Alabama in Spokane, Washington, on Friday in the opening round.
The top 68 teams in the US compete in the NCAA Division One elimination tournament, commonly referred to as “March Madness.”
“I think a lot of people in America would say it is the largest sporting event here,” he stated.
Even with the Super Bowl and the NBA Finals, March is all about college basketball, which makes it extremely special since there are so many upsets.
“It is the main event with the whole world watching it, it is massive and it should be a lot of fun.”
